Electrical gremlins all sorted

Given is has been a couple of years since I did the first fix on the electrics and months since I last touched the electrics, there were a few gremlins to sort out when I wired up the instruments.

When I came back to the electrics this spring, neither the indicators nor the fog lights were working correctly. It may have been caused when I blew some fused the last time, but I have replaced both the flashed relay and IVA fog light switch and everything is working perfectly again.

Connecting all of the warning lights and testing them revealed a couple of issues as well. Firstly the oil pressure light was not illuminating, which it should do when the key is on but the engine off. After some testing, it looks like the pressure switch was also faulty, which was proved when the new one arrived and worked first time.

The next issue was the fuel gauge, which never left zero, despite there being plenty of petrol in the tank. This should really work, as the gauge and sender were all new and from the same company, so should be the correct resistance etc. The solution to this one is probably either obvious to most or people can relate to it! I swear it did not say anything in the instructions, but there is a screw in the sender until which presumably is in there to keep the product safe during transportation. Once I took the little grub screw out the needle on the gauge moved nicely.
