After a lot of research, we decided that our 356 should have what were known as ‘comfort seats’. These may not be your typical Speedster seats, but think that they will suit the overall style that we are aiming for.
The downside of this decision is the price, with a quick search on eBay revealing they would cost anywhere from £2,000 upwards… So back to the drawing board…
The next idea was to see what other classic car seats look similar to the Porsche comfort seats, with many others suggesting the MGB seats. Whilst they are not a perfect match, with some customization they should do the trick; specifically using Porsche style head-restraints and potentially changing the reclining hinges.
Anyway, we have managed to pick up a pair of MGB seats for £85 on eBay and they have just arrived…
Not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea, in terms of trim, but this will all be changed anyway when we to the upholstery of the rest of the car.
