The pedal assembly are all original Porsche 356 components, but when coming to do the final fits, it was clear that some modifications would be required to get it to work effectively with the Beetle chassis.
The main part to fix was the throttle cable, which I previously fabricated a separate brackets to mount the Beetle throttle lever onto. However, this was snagging the main pedal assembly, so I decided to combine the two into one unit. A section was cut out of the original pedal assembly and part of the fabricated bracket was welded into its place. The throttle level is then connected to the 356 accelerator pedal using two ball joints on the end of 6mm threaded bar.
All of these welded parts will need to be removed and re-painted before final fitting.
