Well is has been quite a whilst and progress over the last 6-9 months has been really slow. Work has been incredibly busy and have been travelling a lot, so spare time to spend in the garage has been rare.
The photos below are two different exhaust systems. I wanted to go with the classic twin tip exhaust, so ordered a nice new stainless steel system, however, when it came to fitting it there were obvious problems. The tail pipes were way to high and hit the underside of the rear vallance / bumper; there was no way this one was going to fit unless the tips came out the middle of the bumper.
After a little more research, I found that Vintage Speed did a 356 Speedster twin pipe system. The key difference between the two system is that, on the Vintage Speed one, the tail pipes come from the bottom of the silencer, rather than the middle. However, I still needed to notch the valance and bumper slightly to get the perfect. The finished result looks great!
You can also see the bumper has been fitted and some other trim work that I have done since the last update.
