Other odd jobs…

With the body off again, a number of other odd jobs need to be completed, including:

  • Fabricate additional items, e.g. cover for RHD master cylinder hole
  • Prepare and paint all welded component
  • Re-install all components
  • Test of all mechanical elements, i.e. clutch, accelerator mechanism, etc.
  • Sound-proofing of flood pans
  • Painting plywood floor panels
  • Install rubber seal between chassis & body (left hand photo)

During research we came across a really neat bracket for the fuel filter, by EVA Resto, which bolts neatly onto the transmission box – keeping it outside of the engine bay and any really hot component. The bracket is show in the right hand photo above, albeit this from the companies website and not my car (do not seam to have a photo of it installed).

We also ended up replacing the heat exchanges as the one was showing signs of age and could have ended up mixing exhaust gases with warm air.
